Jussie Smollett to Pay $50K to Chicago Charity After Hate Crime Hoax Probe

Actor Jussie Smollett has agreed to pay $50,000 to a Chicago charity as part of a settlement over a lawsuit regarding the investigation into his claims of a hate crime hoax. Smollett, who was convicted of lying to police about staging his own attack, previously paid a $10,000 fine and did community service. The settlement comes after the city sought $130,000 for police overtime costs related to the investigation.
