A copy of the first Superman issue, discovered in an attic by three brothers cleaning out their late mother’s belongings, sold for $9.12 million at a Texas auction house. The comic book, in excellent condition, was found alongside other rare comics collected before World War II. The valuable find, one of a small number of existing copies, was identified as originating from the first edition of 500,000 Superman No. 1 copies ever printed. The brothers, who wish to remain anonymous, uncovered the comic while preparing their mother’s house for sale, highlighting the unexpected ways the past resurfaces.
