– Call their office at 352-368-8300

– Email damageassessment@pa.marion.fl.us

– Download the Marion County PA app on a smartphone. Visiting their website or using the app on a smartphone are the fastest ways to report damage.

Even if you report damage to the Marion County Property Appraiser, you should still contact your homeowner’s insurance company or landlord!

Tips for photographing property damage:

1. Ensure Safety First: Assess your surroundings and maintain a safe distance from hazards (live wires, unstable structures, etc.) before taking photos.

2. Be Specific: Take close-up shots of specific damage (broken windows, collapsed walls, roof damage, etc.).

3. Ensure Proper Lighting: Make sure the area is well-lit but avoid glare or harsh shadows. Use natural light when possible, but in low-light conditions use a flashlight or camera flash.

4. Avoid Blurry or Unclear Photos: Hold the camera steady or use a tripod to avoid motion blur.

5. Provide Context: Capture photos from multiple angles (front, side, and back) to show the extent of the damage and include undamaged areas in the photos for comparison.
